A Message from the Owners
Imagine you are driving down a windy, hilly road and you start seeing signs warning you that the road is out ahead. Maybe the rst sign reads “Road ends in 2 miles.” The second sign might say “Road ends in 1 mile.” As you get closer, the signs start telling you how many feet until the road ends. At what point do you stop, turn around, and go a different direction?
Lisa would probably turn around after the first sign. That’s her personality. Mary Alice would probably go all the way to the last sign just to make sure it is really out! Or maybe she thinks she can pull a Smokey and the Bandit move and just y over to the other side. (If you have ridden with Mary Alice, then you are indeed laughing as you picture that jump!)
This article goes to more than half the public schools in Arkansas and to over 5,000 clients and prospects. That means that, hopefully, thousands of you are reading this article. For those of you who are already retired, we hope you will pass this article and our names on to your children and working-aged grandchildren. Why? Because this article is a warning sign for many middle-aged and young adults working today.
The March 14, 2016 issue of Money magazine featured an article titled “1 in 3 Americans Has Saved $0 for Retirement.” The article continues by pointing out that another 23 percent have saved less than $10,000.
Our newest team member, Dylan Howell, already has a passion for helping young people financially. He agrees with us that more needs to be done as far as educating working-aged adults about the importance of saving and investing.
The majority of people don’t save and invest because nobody has ever taken the time to sit down with them and explain the “why’s” and “how’s.” Most people have never been exposed to such things as the powerful results of compound interest, the tax benefits of qualified retirement accounts and the future value of Roth IRA contributions.
It is never too early or too late to begin saving for retirement.
We want to help you. We want to help your working-aged children.
The time to get out of debt, start saving and start preparing for retirement is NOW!
For those people who are traveling life’s highway without a plan, the road is out up ahead! Consider this your warning sign.
Working for you, not an insurance company!
