Tell us about your family.
I married my high school sweetheart, Terry, in 1991. We have two sons – Tyler and Trent. Some of my favorite moments come from watching sports with my boys. Together, we cheer for the Razorbacks, Chicago Cubs and the Dallas Cowboys!
What is your favorite food?
Cook a steak to the perfect medium and serve it with a loaded baked potato – YUM!
I also love French fries, and my guilty pleasure is a big chocolate shake. Even guiltier? I have one ding-dong every night with a glass of milk.
What do you do for fun?
Being poolside in the sun with a good book is my favorite pastime. I enjoy teaching swimming lessons to children in the summer and spending time with friends.
I am an elected school board representative for the newly formed Jacksonville-North Pulaski School District. It is an honor to advocate for students and my community.
Do you have any furry friends?
Allie-cat is my eight-year-old feline friend. Her purrs and paws make me smile, especially when my boys love on her when they come in the door.
What are some of your favorite things right now?
My favorite activity has been watching Trent play baseball during his senior year. It is hard for me to believe that my youngest is graduating this year. We are cheering hard for the Titans and enjoying all of the hustle and bustle of senior year.
Our house is always full of young men playing basketball, swimming in the pool, or just working up their appetites. They have gone through up to three dozen of my homemade chocolate chip cookies in a week and a bottomless number of chicken wings. Having my house as a gathering place for my boys and their friends is definitely one of my favorite things.
If I am home alone, you can find me curled up watching a chick-flick. It might be something from the Hallmark channel or even Pretty Woman for the millionth time.
What's something you have learned recently about your faith or share your favorite scripture/song right now?
The song “Superheroes” by The Script has been repeating on my playlist for weeks now. The inspirational lyrics describe how you can take the pain of the past and use it to make yourself a stronger person. It reminds me that God orchestrates and uses our circumstances to bring glory to Himself.
Philippians 3:13-14 Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus.
Working for you, not an insurance company!
